Now you have a choice! The groove fx course is offered as either a stand alone Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification or as part of the FIE Level 2 Diploma in Instructing Group Fitness. The Diploma combines the full Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing Exercise to Music (ETM) qualification with the pump fx, blast fx and groove fx CPD certifications. Because you need an ETM qualification to teach groove fx, the FIE Level 2 Diploma in Instructing Group Fitness is the most convenient and cost effective way of learning to teach groove fx and freestyle ETM classes. Click here for more information on the FIE Level 2 Diploma in Instructing Group Fitness. If you already hold an ETM qualification, you can choose to enrol in either the groove fx Online or Face to Face CPD certification. Both options cover the same topics including: - Principles of fitness
- Motivation and communication techniques
- Music breakdown and choreography
- Presentation and cueing
- The role of the Group Fitness Instructor
Online: Upon enrolment you will be sent a groove fx release consisting of a groove fx CD and the accompanying free educational choreography DVD. You will work through the groove fx certification online and be tested at the end of each section by way of a multiple choice worksheet. Upon successful completion of the online section of the certification, you will need to watch the choreography on the DVD, select a track (excluding the stretch or cool down tracks), learn it and film yourself teaching it according to the assessment guidelines. Once filmed you need to send your assessment in to us, on DVD, to be assessed. The Assessor will be looking for quality of cueing, choreography progressions, motivation and an ability to teach to the level of the group and/or individuals within the group. Rewards...not restrictions! Once you've successfully completed the groove fx Certification, you are free to teach groove fx wherever and whenever you like. Unlike other pre-choreographed programmes, your income is not limited by the number of licensed clubs in your area...because groove fx is licence free. We don't tie you or your clubs into an expensive licence agreement. We believe the less money the club has to pay in licence fees, the more they can pay to you! You also don't have to waste precious time and money dragging yourself across the country to attend yet another quarterly update to collect your new release. Instead, we send each new CD directly to your door…and you simply download the accompanying choreography videos and notes from our website. Let’s get the party started! All you need to do is choose the FIE Level 2 Diploma in Instructing Group Fitness if you don’t have an ETM qualification or between the Online or Face to Face certification if you do. You’ll receive 10 REPs CPD points for successfully completing the groove fx Certification, no matter which format or option you choose – which is great news when you consider you only need 12 CPD points p/year to stay on the Register! Alternatively, we understand your time is precious and want to recognise the hard work you may have already put into furthering your skills. Therefore, if you hold a current ETM or BodyJam qualification, you don't have to complete the groove fx Certification - unless of course you want to become an even better instructor!
