This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required by an Exercise to Music Instructor to enable you to plan, instruct and evaluate sessions for groups of individuals with a variety of experience and fitness levels.

- Instructor Skills
- How to plan, instruct and evaluate an Exercise to Music Session
- How to adapt your session plans to meet individual participant needs
- How to promote the adoption of physical activity
- How to deal with accidents and emergencies
Course requirement
You should have experience of attending exercise to music sessions and during the course you will gain further knowledge and skills by participating in work experience activities in the studio environment.
Assessment
There are three parts to your assessment -
- Theory Assessment
- Practical Assessment
- Portfolio Assessment
You will sit a multiple choice thoery paper. This is done online.
You will submit a video which demonstrates your ability to instruct a planned exercise to music session. You are then required to carryout a written evaluation of your performance and create an action plan for your continued professional development.
And finally you will submit a portfolio of evidence which contains the following:
- Screening documentation for all participants
- Session Plan designed for Group Exercise to Music Session
- Risk assessment for the planned session
- Evidence of CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Health and Safety Worksheet
- Promote the Adoption of Physical Activity Worksheet
